- Biographie
- During his studies at the Oriental Languages School in Paris, Déal was published in Japanese magazines as photographer. After 10 years working for Nippon Television as news producer, Déal joined HBS to prepare the FIFA World Cup in Korea and Japan. After a successful delivery of the 2002 World Cup, he moved EBU in Geneva for half a year before going back to Japan to open the first GlobeCast office in this country. Once the office settled and running, Déal moved back to France to take care of the Major Events at GlobeCast, starting a direct relationship with the IOC, FIFA and UEFA. In 2007 he created a company, evenBROADCAST, to design, implement and operate the contribution and distribution network for the Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland. In 2010, he joined the IT Department of UEFA to design and operate the fully integrated IT/Broadcast network between Poland and Ukraine for the Euro 2012 and the World Distribution. In this framework, he also successfully realised a full remote production live test, using uncompressed signal for the first time in history. During the flawless delivery of the Euro in France, where within other challenges, the contribution and distribution were including all the Digital Broadcasting, different tests were performed. Source timed switching and IP virtualisations were the main topics of the tests in view of the Euro 2020 in 12 different countries. Deal has left UEFA in June 2019 to join Orange Sport & Media as CTO and deliver the successful FIFA WWC 2019 in France. Overseeing the VAR project for the French Football League and several other recurrent events, Déal is instrumental in the delivery of the IBC, Contribution and Distribution of the Rugby World Cup in 2023 and the Paris 2024 Games. Three working languages: French, English and Japanese; has travelled and worked in a high number of countries and different cultures; loves innovation and challenges, has extended knowledge in IP networks, broadcast and event management.
